Adam Haas Taking the vibes from their last album, Treason to Our Nature, and building on them with a bit more experience and some new sounds (hell yes bass clarinet!) N+tG have delivered yet another dose of delicious darkness. At times chill, at times intense, always quality. Favorite track: Blue Ritual (Black Sparrow Mix).

about

Nøkken + The Grim’s live album recorded from 2018-2020 at Black Sparrow Music Parlor, Taylor, TX and released for the Winter Solstice in wake of the George Floyd Protests and Covid-19.

This album is dedicated to struggles against the subjugation of Life, Peoples and Land. It mostly contains songs we have only performed live in the last two years in addition to a few live performances of those off of our previous studio albums.

The track “The Legend of Coyote, First Angry” is inspired by and in honor of Coyote. They are very important in many Native spiritualities, including Diné Bahaneʼ (the story of creation and the Diné people). No matter what violence colonialism does to coyotes, treating them heinously as pests when they are part of this Land, they refuse to be erased, tamed or suppressed.

This album signifies renewal, untameable life and the agony of healing.

Thank you to Black Sparrow and all of the wonderful people, our friends and family, who have made it a reality.
